GSS Participated in ELEVATECEE Working Conference #2 in Győr and Signed MoU for Future Cooperation

Green Sustainable Solutions d.o.o. participated in the ELEVATECEE Working Conference #2, held on June 3rd 2026 in Győr, Hungary. The event gathered stakeholders from Austria, Hungary and Slovakia to discuss the next phase of hydrogen, green molecules and clean energy value chain development in Central Europe.

Although Croatia is currently outside the geographical scope of the ELEVATECEE project, GSS was pleased to take part in the discussions and exchange perspectives with project partners, industrial stakeholders, regional actors, technology providers and institutions active in the clean energy transition.

The conference demonstrated that the Austria–Hungary–Slovakia region is becoming one of the strategically important clean energy and industrial transition corridors in Central Europe. With existing industrial demand, logistics infrastructure, renewable energy potential, cross-border cooperation mechanisms and an increasingly structured hydrogen ecosystem, the region is moving from strategy and concept development toward deployment, investment preparation and cross-border value chain creation.

For GSS, one of the key conclusions from the event is that clean technology deployment does not depend only on available technologies. It also requires coordinated ecosystems, investment-ready projects, aligned infrastructure planning, regulatory clarity, financing mechanisms and active cooperation between industry, public authorities, research organisations, investors and project developers.

This type of working format is still insufficiently present in Croatia and the wider Southeast European region. While Croatia is geographically close to Hungary, Austria and Slovakia, the difference in deployment momentum is already visible. The Central European region is increasingly moving toward structured project pipelines and implementation-oriented cooperation, while Croatia still needs more platforms where stakeholders can jointly shape bankable hydrogen and clean energy projects.

During the event, Dinko Đurđević, CEO of GSS, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hydroeconomy Technology Cluster. The MoU creates a basis for future cooperation between the organisations in the field of hydrogen and related cross-border energy value chain initiatives. The cooperation may include the development of hydrogen project concepts, feasibility studies, business cases, regulatory and legislative due diligence, funding strategies, stakeholder workshops and matchmaking activities.

This represents an important step for GSS in strengthening its international cooperation network and supporting future project development activities connected to hydrogen, green molecules and clean energy technologies.

GSS considers events such as ELEVATECEE highly relevant because they move beyond standard conference formats. They provide a practical working environment where stakeholders can identify barriers, connect project ideas with investment logic, discuss regulatory and infrastructure gaps, and build partnerships for future implementation.

Croatia and Southeast Europe would benefit from more frequent events of this type, especially those organised on an interregional level. Stronger links between Central Europe, Croatia, Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans can support faster technology deployment, better project preparation and more integrated clean energy value chains.

We look forward to future cooperation with ELEVATECEE partners and other stakeholders working on hydrogen, green molecules, industrial decarbonisation and sustainable energy transition.
