Sarajevo, February 2026: Green Sustainable Solutions (GSS), together with the Association for Green Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Sources (AgH2RES), JP Elektroprivreda BiH (EP) and Energoinvest d.d., officially launched the two year strategic project “CEI Support to Hydrogen Strategy Development and Know How Transfer for Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
The project, financed by the Central European Initiative (CEI) with co-funding from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), started in February 2026. The official kick-off meeting took place at the headquarters of JP Elektroprivreda BiH in Sarajevo.
Project highlights: over 24 months the consortium will:
– Transfer Croatian and EU best practices in hydrogen technologies and policy
– Deliver four capacity building workshops in Bosnia and Herzegovina
– Organize two study visits (first to Croatia, second to another CEI country)
– Carry out expert advisory missions and peer reviews
– Support the preparation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s internal Hydrogen Roadmaps for JP Elektroprivreda and Energoinvest d.d.
The initiative represents the first systematic approach to hydrogen in BiH and directly supports the country’s EU integration by aligning its energy policy with the EU Green Deal and Hydrogen Strategy.
